BA in Elementary and Special Education
As both the resource teacher and co-teacher for Hand-In-Hand I am going to be working very closely with your child’s grade level teacher on material they are learning in class. Additionally, we are going to be working in areas that need strengthening to help them be successful students. Having an open mind, keeping a positive attitude, and trying their best will be key factors in their success in and out of the classroom. My goal will be to appropriately challenge your student as they try their best throughout the year.
My goal for each child is that they grow in both their confidence and their skills while working with me. I see the students from a range of about twenty five to forty five minutes. During that time the children are working on skills and content that I have discussed with their teacher about, or have identified through a baseline test that was taken in the beginning of the year. I try to make the lessons as interactive as possible, therefore, student participation is key. Some students just finished working with shaving cream for their sight words, others have been working with models and charts in math.
