Dear Saint Ann Parents,
Our family is honored to share with you how much it means to us to be a part of the Saint Ann Community and to provide the letter of support for your continued generosity to the Annual Fund Campaign for Saint Ann School this year. It is that time of year when we reflect on our blessings and cherish those we hold dear; we could not be more grateful to share with you what it means to be a part of the Saint Ann Family.
My husband Mike attended and graduated from Saint Ann School and Father Ryan High School as did his father, Mike Moran, Sr. and sister Michelle (Moran) Eubanks. His younger siblings, Monica and Mark, are also Saint Ann School graduates. Like my children, Mike also had cousins that attended Saint Ann School with him and enriched his school life.
When I first moved to Nashville and would attend mass with Mike, we often sat behind his loving and devoted grandparents, Nanny and Papa (Faye and Ned Moran) just under the fourth station of the cross. I was moved by the sense of family and community that I found with the Moran family and with Saint Ann Parish which is why I chose to go through the RCIA process and become a member of Saint Ann Church. Around the same time I entered the church, Mike and I married.
It was important to Mike and me that our children have the same childhood opportunities that he and his father experienced as we pursued a Catholic education for our sons, Brody and Garrett. We could not have found a better spiritual and educational home for our boys. Not only do they feel loved in this environment where they are challenged academically each day, but they feel accepted for who they are. They are given the gift of being appreciated for their unique spirit, and that spirit is honored and nurtured while at Saint Ann School.
Saint Ann School is so much more than a spiritual and academic foundation for our children; it has further instilled one of our family’s core beliefs that each one of us has a responsibility for service to one another. Saint Ann School allows the children to give back to others through sharing their spirituality and devotion in their capacity as altar servers. There are so many ways to provide service to others, volunteering at school events, Bakers for Bikes, peer buddies and senior friends, to name a few.
Academically, the children have enhanced their studies through the many additional extra-curricular activities Saint Ann School provides. Brody and Garrett have participated in Model United Nations, Forensics, Math Day, and Science Olympiad. Not only do these events promote advanced learning, build their public speaking skills and overall academic confidence, but they also create the opportunity to visit other learning environments where they are tasked with managing their time and activities independently. In today’s world, there are limited opportunities for this age group to function independently in controlled environments.
None of these activities would be possible without the dedication of the staff at Saint Ann School. We appreciate each of them more than words can express. They love and care for our children every day and sacrifice their own time and needs to be there for them. They are selfless in their devotion to the school and our students are truly blessed.
Your continued financial support for the annual fund will allow Saint Ann School to replenish their textbooks and give our curriculum a competitive advantage over other high achieving scholastic programs. Additional dollars will provide technological advancements to the students and the school system as a whole. Saint Ann students’ use of computers during the academic day sets them apart from their counterparts and your dollars will keep propelling this historic institution forward for the next generation.
To keep track of our fundraising success, you will see a donor wall in the gym. Our goal is 100 percent participation and giving a gift in any amount is a great way to show your support. If now is not the best time for you to make a gift or you would prefer to break your gift up into monthly payments, complete the donor information on the envelope form and let us know when you would like to make your payments. Krystal Johnson will send reminders throughout the year to honor your request. If you prefer to make your gift online, please visit the school website for one time or recurring gift options.
Sincerely,
Mike and Daina Moran
